Reading in Polish is often very difficult for children due to digraphs, embellishments, and the specific nature of the Polish language, which is not easy. Even children who enjoy reading in English struggle with reading in Polish. That's why it's so important to regularly reach for Polish books every day, for pleasure.
To encourage a child to read, gradually increase the difficulty level and adapt the texts to the child's language level.
The "Czytam sobie" (I'm Reading Myself) series is recommended for bilingual children who are familiar with leveled reading from English school. The level adapted to the child's reading ability helps develop reading courage, and reading a single, short book in Polish is a source of pride.
Created by leading Polish authors and illustrators, consulted and recommended by experts, the series gains parents' trust and brings joy to children. It consists of three basic levels and an additional, more challenging one for children who have already mastered reading in Polish.
"I Read Myself with a Cotillion" is a series prepared especially for the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence.
The series' protagonists guide readers through topics related to independence and patriotism. They describe real events through the lens of their participants, introducing people who, over the past 100 years, were crucial to the development of independent Poland – sometimes well-known, like Marshal Piłsudski, and sometimes unknown, like the Jabłkowski brothers or Mr. Bekker.
From the "I Read Myself" series of level-level books, we also recommend:
"I Read Myself with a Bakcyl" – for children who have already mastered reading in Polish
"I Read Myself Eco" – these are books for learning to read, with a special focus on topics related to environmental protection and ecological intelligence.
