The Naughty Books series is a collection of stories for children and adults that challenges childhood myths. Should a child always be obedient, eat everything on their plate, and share their belongings?
"You have to be nice!" – children still hear this. How do we understand it? Such a difficult word, it holds a whole host of meanings!
What do you think: is a boy naughty who doesn't want to share a new toy? Would we call a girl naughty who refuses to kiss an aunt she's never seen naughty? Or perhaps our hero Antek is naughty, who doesn't want to eat his favorite chicken soup because his grandfather sprinkled it with parsley? If so, then our series is very, very naughty.
Together with Antek and his family, we tell young readers stories that unpretentiously challenge the myth of politeness and obedience. Antek is spontaneous, sometimes getting angry, other times trying to cope with sadness or disappointment. He's also learning to defend his boundaries, say "no," and discover how interesting and diverse the world can be.
Antoni's adventures not only invite shared reading but, above all, engage in important conversations: about sensitivity, feelings, independence, and critical thinking. Written from a child's emotional perspective, they give parents insight into their development and unique worldview, and promote a humanistic, understanding approach to the needs and feelings of young people.
