The Boy in the Dress is a children's book written by David Walliams and illustrated by Quentin Blake.
It tells the story of a fourteen-year-old boy named John and a twelve-year-old boy named Dennis who like to dress up, and the reactions of their families and friends.
It is aimed at readers between the ages of eight and twelve and aims to educate children that dressing up is a healthy and acceptable hobby, not something to be ashamed of. The book was adapted into a TV film and a musical.
An ordinary town, an ordinary house, an ordinary boy. If David Walliams' book begins like this, it can only mean one thing - get ready for something extraordinary… that could happen to any of you. Children like to dress up, and if an adult says that he or she would not like to switch places with a famous actor or sportsman, don't believe him. After all, it is very interesting to be someone else for a moment. This is also what Dennis, the protagonist of the book "Boy in a Dress", thinks, who is not only interested in fashion, but also at the urging of his friend from school, dresses up one of her outfits and pretends to be a girl from France. Unfortunately, the whole plot is revealed and the boy is thrown out of school. Right before the most important game of the season in which he has to play because he is the best striker for his team. Will Dennis play in this match? Who will win the cup? You will find out if you come to the school playground ...
