Aleksandra Plec and Marzena Skoczylas's series was created for children who are just beginning their reading journey, as well as those who are struggling with reading. The authors propose using the syllabic method, which is the easiest way for children to quickly master the material.
The syllabic method of learning to read recommended for bilingual children.
The syllabic method, also known as the simultaneous-sequential method, is based on the results of neuropsychological tests and experience in therapy and speech therapy. Due to its astonishing results, it is frequently and eagerly used.
This method builds on the natural human tendency to use syllables in speech acts, making learning intuitive.
The series includes a Primer, useful exercises, and other materials supporting reading and writing:
• My Patterns, Letters
• Let's Read Together
• I Know, I Can, and I Write Correctly, Spelling Exercises
Textbooks and Resources for Bilingual Children
We also offer other series for learning Polish as a foreign language at Level A:
I Like Polish
With Ania Through Poland
At Level B (intermediate level), we recommend the textbook series by Małgorzata Pawlusiewicz, created specifically for Polish schools abroad. The greatest advantage of this series is that the amount of material and lesson units are tailored to the number of classes in Saturday school (32-35 classes per year, 3-4 hours per week).
These textbooks ensure continuity of learning for students, as each textbook is a continuation of the previous volume.
This series is used by Polish schools worldwide, including over 200 schools in the UK and Europe. The author of the textbooks, Małgorzata Pawlusiewicz, has many years of experience teaching children in exile and training teachers for the Polish diaspora.
