I Listen and Learn to Speak

I Listen and Learn to Speak is a series of language-based auditory exercises recommended by speech-language pathologists for bilingual children.

The series was created by renowned speech therapists, known for their popular and highly regarded Krakow Method, Professor Jagoda Cieszyńska and Elżbieta Wianecka.

The "I Listen and Learn to Speak" speech-language therapy series is a program of language exercises that positively impact a child's attention and concentration, develop appropriate speech patterns, and encourage natural imitation. The recordings, prepared in a professional studio, were electronically processed so that the duration of the consonants is equal to the duration of the vowels. The CDs are accompanied by illustrated booklets. This allows for simultaneous training in attention, concentration, analysis, and visual synthesis, as well as early simultaneous and sequential reading.

This series includes:

Vowels and Interjections

Onomatopoeic Phrases

Syllables and Nouns - 4 Parts

Syllables and Verbs - 2 Parts: Singular and Plural

Noun Declension - 2 Parts: Singular and Plural

Difficult Sounds

Jagoda Cieszyńska's book series is an excellent tool for working with children on their articulation, or the pronunciation of individual sounds.

To communicate effectively with others, it's important to master correct pronunciation in your own language. You can start practicing this skill with your child very early – from around two months of age, your child begins to babble and produce various vowels, including some that don't occur in their own language. From six months on, the set of sounds narrows down to those belonging to a given ethnic language. The final shape of a child's utterances is influenced by many different factors, such as regional and socially determined pronunciation variations that distinguish residents of different regions of Poland and also identify us as foreigners when communicating in another language.

To begin working on your child's pronunciation as early as possible, it's worth reaching for the publication "Słucham i uczeń się mówię" (I Listen and Learn to Speak) by Prof. Dr. hab. Jagoda Cieszyńska. She is a qualified educator and speech therapist with extensive professional experience, including working with children with hearing and speech impairments. Daily practice sessions should last approximately 6 minutes and should be conducted using headphones to effectively isolate the child from distracting external stimuli. This publication is suitable for any child, but it is particularly recommended for those who experience difficulties in learning articulation, such as bilinguals, those with hearing impairments, those with speech impediments, aphasia, alalia, and those with language, developmental, and genetic communication disorders.

The "I Listen and Learn to Speak" series will help support your child's bilingualism.

Parents have a significant influence on whether their child will speak Polish in the future and whether they will achieve full bilingualism. It's best to dedicate plenty of time to active contact with the Polish language from an early age – speaking, conversing, reading, playing, and learning in Polish – all of this will have a significant impact on the development of the minority language and achieving full bilingualism in the future.

Tested and proven materials supporting Polish language learning will help you achieve this.
